What should do when I have an urgent eye problem during the COVID-19 shutdown?
Exchange Place Eye Associates has a system to manage and triage ocular emergencies so patients don't have to go to the ER.
If you cannot locate any appointment slots via our online booking system, or via phone, please reach out to us via text to (201) 855-9789 while the emergency protocols are in place for further inquiries. We strive to respond to text inquiries within an hour between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm.
We reserve the right to move your appointment to other time slots for the safety of our staff and patients.
To help "flatten the curve" and do our part in the pandemic, these are the terms of service:
1) If you have a fever, are coughing, or have any upper respiratory symptoms, please do not come to the office. No exceptions. Contact your PCP or internist.
2) To limit physical contact at the office, please fill out all online forms AND sign the electronic terms of service forms prior to the visit.
3) All patients entering the office must wear mask faces, pursuant to all local and state mandates. Please refrain from bringing anyone not receiving care to the office.
4) Should there be a lack of on-site support staff due to quarantine requirements, we may request that all monies (copays, deductibles, coinsurances), be collected on the day, at least an hour prior to service via credit card & electronic invoice or Zelle to contact@exchangeplaceeye.com. If and when insurance information or eligibility is not readily available or confirmed by the office , the patient is considered a "private pay" patient and a $120 deposit will be collected on or prior to the day of service.
