Dr. Mamie Chen
OPTOMETRIC PHYSICIAN
Dr. Mamie Z. Chen is a licensed Doctor of Optometry in both New Jersey, with additional certification in therapeutic pharmaceutical agents, including oral medications. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry and her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Chen has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating ocular allergies, dry eye disease, and Computer Vision Syndrome. She manages glaucoma and co-manages retinal conditions, cataracts, and LASIK with leading local ophthalmologists. She is also passionate about pediatric eye care.
Her clinical training includes the Indian Health Hospital in Lawton, OK; the Optometric Center of Los Angeles; and the VA Hospital in Tucson, AZ, where she worked closely with low-vision patients. She completed a residency in Primary Care at the SUNY State College of Optometry, gaining broad experience teaching second-year optometry students, supervising interns, caring for patients at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, and working with refractive surgery patients at TLC Laser Eye Center in Manhattan.

Moreover, past experiences, Dr. Chen has focused on serving infant and pediatric populations in Brooklyn, with a special emphasis on amblyopia and strabismus. Her additional clinical interests include myopia control for children, fitting rigid gas-permeable lenses (including challenging corneal conditions), and managing keratoconus.

Outside of work, Dr. Chen enjoys spending time with her husband and children, being involved in her church community, and staying engaged with continuing education to remain current with the latest developments in eye care.

Dr. Jason Chen

Dr. Jason J. Chen is a licensed Doctor of Optometry in both New York and New Jersey, with certification in therapeutic pharmaceutical agents. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the SUNY State College of Optometry and his Bachelor of Science in General Biology from the University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Chen has extensive experience in managing ocular allergies, ocular surface disease, meibomian gland dysfunction, and Computer Vision Syndrome. He treats and manages glaucoma and co-manages retinal conditions, cataracts, and LASIK with leading ophthalmologists. His clinical training includes the Indian Health Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma, and the Port Hueneme Branch Naval Hospital in California.

Throughout his career, Dr. Chen has cared for a diverse range of patients—from the demanding office workers of Midtown Manhattan to communities in Union City, NJ, as well as the underserved populations in Chinatown and Brooklyn, NY. Since 2015, he has dedicated much of his clinical time to the renowned Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital (MEETH), where he continues to collaborate closely with subspecialists in ophthalmology. His primary clinical interest is the diagnosis and management of complex and advanced dry eye disease.

Outside the office, Dr. Chen enjoys spending time with his wife and children, participating in church activities, and pursuing ongoing professional education to stay current with advancements in eye care.
