Dr. Mamie Chen

OPTOMETRIC PHYSICIAN

Dr. Mamie Z. Chen is a licensed Doctor of Optometry in both New Jersey and New York State and holds additional certification for therapeutic pharmaceutical and oral agents. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern California College of Optometry and her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Mamie is experienced in the treatment of ocular allergies, dry eyes, and Computer Vision Syndrome. She also treats and manages glaucoma patients, and co-manages treatment of retinal pathologies, cataracts, and LASIK with local ophthalmologists. Moreover, she enjoys working with the pediatric population. She received clinical training at the Indian Health Hospital in Lawton, OK, Optometric Center Los Angeles in California, and the VA Hospital in Tucson, AZ where she worked with low vision patients. She completed an additional residency at SUNY State College of Optometry in Primary Care, where she gained valuable experience teaching 2nd year optometry students, clinically supervising optometric interns, working at the TLC Laser Eye Center in Manhattan, as well as seeing patients at Woodhull Hospital, an inner city hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Her more recent experiences include serving the indigent infant and pediatric population in Brooklyn where she works with amblyopic and strabismic patients. Her other areas of clinical interest involve myopia control in children, hard-to-fit rigid-gas-permeable lenses (RGP) and keratoconus.

During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, being involved in church activities, and staying current and attending continuing education classes.

Dr. Jason Chen

Dr. Jason J. Chen is a licensed Doctor of Optometry in both New York and New Jersey State, and holds certification for therapeutic pharmaceutical agents. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from SUNY State College of Optometry, and his Bachelor of Science in General Biology from University of California, San Diego.

​

Dr. Jason is experienced in the treatment of ocular allergies, ocular surface disease, meibomian gland dysfunction, and Computer Vision Syndrome. He also treats and manages glaucoma patients, and co-manages treatment of retinal pathologies, cataracts, and LASIK with local ophthalmologists. He received clinical training at the Indian Health Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma and the Port Hueneme Branch Naval Hospital in California. His past experiences include working with the discerning office workers in Midtown Manhattan as well as the working class neighborhood in Union City, NJ and the indigent population in Chinatown and Brooklyn, NY. Starting in May 2015, he will spend the majority of his time working at the world class Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital (MEETH) in New York City, NY. His clinical area of interest is specialty dry eye management and treatment.

During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, being involved in church activities, and staying current academically and attending continuing education classes.
